Fourth-year Ohio State University Journalism student with published/broadcast experience at The Lantern and Buckeye TV. I aspire to write and produce the future of digital media.

About me

I’ve gained experience in AP-style journalism by working at The Lantern's Arts and Life desk as the primary comedy beat reporter. I also found work at Buckeye TV in production which ranged from manning the cameras to directing in the production booth. In both experiences, I worked with various personalities and interests resulting in published and broadcasted work. I’m a current intern at Scott Social: Social Media Management Agency where I do everything from digital content organization, SEO optimizing, and blog writing.

After two years at the University of Tennessee’s College of Journalism, I transferred to Ohio State University where I found a renewed passion for journalism by becoming a published reporter for The Lantern under the Arts and Life desk. I’ve also participated in producing Buckeye TV for the campus area and interning for Scott Social on a national playing field. I’m eager to keep learning about the world of media and production in the following year, with every day being an adventure in this industry.

My experiences

Beginning in 2019, I interned for the Pataskala Post as a reporter and head of social media in my hometown as a program through my high school for students to gain early work experience in a field of their interest. I continued with journalism at The University of Tennessee where I worked for a fitness and nutrition company as a blog writer. I wrote in a column style with the blog, sharing tips and tricks for nutrition, fashion, and fitness.

After transferring to the Ohio State University, I began writing at The Lantern as a freelancer. The next semester I would be moved to the Arts and Life desk as the comedy beat writer where my skill in AP style writing was expanded. My experience at The Lantern lead me to interviewing new and diverse people in the Columbus, OH area.

Beginning work at Buckeye TV taught me new editing skills and how production works. I spent time in front of the camera, behind the camera, and in the production booth. Production, although new to me, is something I caught onto quickly and lead to producing a short news video to accompany an article I wrote at The Lantern for Lantern TV.

I am a current intern for Scott Social, a social media management company that works fully remote nationwide. I’m highly versed in SEO-optimizing for captions on social media and blogs for search engine/Pinterest engagement.

I hold the title of Social Media Manager at CC’s Retreats, an Airbnb company that has homes in Ohio, Tennessee, Texas, and Michigan. I’ve been rebuilding their brand image and optimizing all things content to gain a social following from the ground up. This is a small, female-owned, business where I’ve learned a lot of skills in entrepreneurship, networking, and digital marketing.
